- Kosmix Search has developed algorithms and technology that solve a complex engineering problem: categorizing the entire Web into understandable categories, such as women’s health and adventure travel. We change the search experience in two ways: Kosmix frees searchers from the tyranny of the top 10 results, enabling them to explore the Web around their search topic guided by Kosmix categories. Kosmix enables “flavored” search. A soccer mom can have a tailored, full-scale search engine that delivers family-friendly results.

- Nielsen NetRatings shows the overall $5 billion search market growing 5% from the first quarter to second quarter of 2005. Double-digit growth was achieved by smaller players Ask and AOL. Vertical search grew in the double digits for Google and Yahoo, faster than general search overall.
